Indications for use: Infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to ofloxacin:
- exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
- community-acquired pneumonia;
- acute pyelonephritis and complicated urinary tract infections;
- non-gonococcal/gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis;
- complicated skin and soft tissue infections.
For the treatment of the above-mentioned infections, the drug is used only when the use of other antibacterial agents, which are usually prescribed for the initial treatment of these infections, is impossible.
Official recommendations on the proper use of antibacterial agents should be taken into account.
Contraindication:
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance, other components of the medicinal product or to other fluoroquinolones.
- Epilepsy, including in the anamnesis, damage to the central nervous system (CNS) with a reduced seizure threshold (after craniocerebral injuries, stroke, inflammatory processes of the brain and meninges).
- Tendinitis in the anamnesis.
- Deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The drug should not be used in patients with prolongation of the QT interval, uncompensated hypoglycemia, as well as in patients who simultaneously use drugs that can prolong the QT interval (antiarrhythmic drugs of classes IA and III, tricyclic antidepressants, macrolides, antipsychotics).
